Bath Navigators Travel Basketball TRYOUTS - 5/6 Boys Navigators Travel TRYOUT REGISTRATION
Sign-ups for tryouts will close at midnight Friday 1/16. Participants must be registered to attend.Navigators is a travel program for participants in grades 3/4 and 5/6. This program is a more competitive experience for those looking to take their skills to the next level. There is a significant time commitment for families in this level of play. Practices will be built around concepts that prioritize the development of the individual and the team, preparing for competitive game play on weekends and weekdays with other travel team communities. Every travel team is run differently, but in general, players and their parents should understand that after a travel team is selected, that team may practice several nights a week and likely on the weekends as well: several scrimmages may also be scheduled to prepare the team for its tournament(s). Tournament games will be played on Friday and over the weekend, and Friday games may start as early as 3:30 pm with arrival times as early as 2 pm. Each travel team will need to prepare for its own tournaments. The locations are yet to be determined, but the dates begin in February and run through late March.We have found the travel basketball experience to be very rewarding and lots of fun for the kids as they and their coaches work hard to prepare for the tournaments. Before attending tryouts, we hope that parents will look at their family plans to make sure that, if selected, they can make the appropriate time commitment to support their teams throughout the travel season. This year (same as in past years) we will be making one travel team of 10-12 players in each grade category (3/4 boys, 3/4 girls, 5/6 boys, 5/6 girls). -Try-outs for grades 3/4 are by coach nomination for registered Bath Recreation Basketball players only. No open tryouts. -Try-outs for grades 5/6 are open to participants enrolled in Bath Recreation Basketball, Bath Middle School, and Woolwich Central school basketball only.To be eligible for selection, players must be present at the time of try-outs. Sunday, January 18 3/4 Girls: 12:00-1:15 pm @ Bath Rec Gym3/4 Boys: 1:15-2:30 pm @ Bath Rec Gym5/6 Boys: 2:30-3:45 pm @ Bath Rec Gym5/6 Girls: 3:45-5:00 pm @ Bath Rec GymThese are closed gym tryouts - attendance permitted for players and evaluators only. Participating in a tryout does not guarantee placement on a team!
If selected, players will be notified by the recreation department
Cost to participate is $100.00, this includes a uniform to keep
Uniforms will be assigned to registered players prior to the first game
Players who have not registered and paid are not eligible to play, and will not be assigned a uniform until they do so
Try-outs are FREE but registration is required for planning purposes!
