Bath Navigators Travel Basketball TRYOUTS - 5/6 Girls Navigators Travel TRYOUT REGISTRATION NOTE: Time change to the 5/6 Boys and Girls travel tryouts. See below for updates. Sign-ups for tryouts will close at 4 pm Friday 1/16. Participants must be registered to attend.Navigators is a travel program for participants in grades 3/4 and 5/6. This program is a more competitive experience for those looking to take their skills to the next level. There is a significant time commitment for families in this level of play. Practices will be built around concepts that prioritize the development of the individual and the team, preparing for competitive game play on weekends and weekdays with other travel team communities. Every travel team is run differently, but in general, players and their parents should understand that after a travel team is selected, that team may practice several nights a week and likely on the weekends as well: several scrimmages may also be scheduled to prepare the team for its tournament(s). Tournament games will be played on Friday and over the weekend, and Friday games may start as early as 3:30 pm with arrival times as early as 2 pm. Each travel team will need to prepare for its own tournaments. The locations are yet to be determined, but the dates begin in February and run through late March. We have found the travel basketball experience to be very rewarding and lots of fun for the kids as they and their coaches work hard to prepare for the tournaments. Before attending tryouts, we hope that parents will look at their family plans to make sure that, if selected, they can make the appropriate time commitment to support their teams throughout the travel season. This year (same as in past years) we will be making one travel team of 10-12 players in each grade category (3/4 boys, 3/4 girls, 5/6 boys, 5/6 girls). -Try-outs for grades 3/4 are by coach nomination for registered Bath Recreation Basketball players only.
